Global Coin Guide is a small, focused publisher — not a newsroom with a masthead of staff analysts. This page explains how the site is actually put together, so you can decide how much to trust it.
What this site is
Global Coin Guide publishes two kinds of content: country-by-country crypto buying guides (under /how-to-buy), and market research (under /research) covering regulation, narratives, and country-level analysis. It’s operated by Bearing Street. Several links on the site are affiliate links — full disclosure on that is on the Legal page.
How the buying guides are built
Each country page in /how-to-buy is built from a structured data set covering, per country: the actual regulator, current legal status, accepted local payment methods, and tax treatment — researched against primary and reputable secondary sources (regulator publications, established legal and compliance trackers) rather than generated from a single template with names swapped in.
Where a country’s framework is still changing — Ukraine, Vietnam, Turkey, and Nigeria at the time of writing — the page says so explicitly, instead of presenting an unsettled situation as fixed fact.
How the research section is produced
Content published under the “GCG Research Desk” byline — country reports, narrative pieces, and the daily digest — is AI-assisted: drafted from structured market and regulatory data using large language models, then checked before publishing. “GCG Research Desk” is an editorial byline for that process, not a claim of a large in-house analyst team.
We think that’s a more honest way to run a site this size than pretending otherwise. If a report reads as more authoritative than its sourcing supports, that’s a bug — tell us and we’ll fix it.
Keeping it current
Crypto regulation moves fast — several of the countries covered here changed their rules within the past year. Every guide page carries a “last verified” date in its footer. Treat anything older than a few months as a starting point, not a final answer, and confirm time-sensitive details (tax rates, licensing deadlines) directly with a regulator or a licensed local advisor before acting on them.
